TBILISI, DFWatch–Tbilisi Zoo has a new baby lynx, which was recently discovered in Lagodekhi in eastern Georgia.

The animal was discovered by ranger Gogita Khunashvili in Lagodekhi nature preserve in July, after the river Shroma was flooded, carrying the lynx away.

The ranger brought the lynx to Tbilisi Zoo, where it recovered from a weak condition and is now OK, the zoo said.

The veterinarian named the animal Halle, after actress Halle Berry.

“Meet our Halle. This is her first public appearance and we hope you will like and love her,” the zoo wrote on its Facebook page accompanied by pictures.
