TBILISI, DFWatch–The de facto government of the breakaway republic South Ossetia Tuesday evening released Lasha Glurjidze, 21, after nine days in detention.

Glurjidze was released after paying a 2,000 Ruble (USD 26) fine for ‘crossing the border’, which is the common practice.

The young man was detained on January 4 by Russian border guards while on the way to a church near the village Bershueti, which borders with the de facto republic.
