TBILISI, DFWatch–The S-3 road between the winter resort Gudauri and the village Kobi is closed due to high winds and poor visibility.
Between Aragvispiri and Gudauri, and between Kobi and the Russian border at Larsi, trailers, semi-trailers and vehicles with more than 20 seats are not allowed to drive due to snow and ice. Other vehicles are allowed to drive between Aragvispiri and Gudauri and between Kobi and Larsi, but are not allowed to make stops between Stepantsminda and Larsi.
Heavy vehicles are prohibited from driving on the SH-17 between Kutaisi and Ambrolauri; the Nakerala pass.
Another section where heavy vehicles are prohibited from driving is on the SH-7 between Jvari and Ushguli, due to snow and ice. Between Lakhamura to Kala, other vehicles are allowed only if they are equipped with snow chains. The stretch between Kala and Ushguli is closed to all traffic. Between Zugdidi and Jvari, there are no restrictions.
The SH-31 road has been closed between Nardevani Rodionovka close to Ninotsminda for more than a month now because of strong wind and poor visibility. This is one of the routes between Tbilisi and the Armenian border.
