TBILISI, July 2 – Georgian company Black Sea Petroleum says it will begin processing only non-Russian crude oil from August or September this year, in a move it says is part of market diversification.
The company made the announcement in a statement dated July 1, cited by Interpressnews.
Black Sea Petroleum said the switch to fully non-Russian crude would open the door for its products to higher-margin markets. It did not specify in the statement which countries the new crude oil supplies would come from.
The company also said it processed more than 650,000 tons of raw material in the first half of 2026.
The announcement comes as energy trade and supply routes remain under close attention across the region because of Russia’s war in Ukraine and changing trade patterns around the Black Sea.
Black Sea Petroleum said it is continuing to develop the plant according to its strategic plan and wants to contribute to Georgia’s economic development.
