TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover increased 15 percent in January, 2014, compared to the same period last year. The total turnover was USD 761 million.
This is according to preliminary data published by Georgia’s National Statistics Department,

TBILISI, DFWatch–The Georgian lari continues to fall in value and hit 1.7817 against the US dollar on January 23.
The fall started in early November and continued gradually from a level of around 1.67 lari against the dollar the month before.

The estimate was published in the Bank’s Global Economic Prospects 2014, which reads that the prognosis for economic growth in Georgia in 2014 is 6.3.
TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia is listed in 22nd place on the Index of Economic Freedom, a ranking which includes 178 countries worldwide.
The list was published Tuesday by the Heritage Foundation and shows Georgia in 22nd place with 72.6 points.
