Batumi shooting leaves two people injured

TBILISI, June 12 – Two people were lightly injured in a shooting in Batumi, Georgia’s main Black Sea city, Interpressnews reported Friday.

The incident happened in the New Boulevard area, a popular seaside district in the city.

According to Interpressnews, the shot was fired by a middle-aged man who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs told the news agency that one person was detained at the scene. An investigation is underway.
