Seven members of Ukraine's Donbass Battalion detained in Tbilisi

Georgian soldier freed by Kiev despite Russian extradition request

TBILISI, DFWatch–A Georgian volunteer soldier in Ukraine was released from pre-trial detention Thursday evening, thus avoiding extradition to Russia, where he is accused of a murder in 2003.

Gia Tsertsvadze thanked his supporters as he left prison but declined making further comments.

Six detained in Tbilisi at rally against National Movement

TBILISI, DFWatch–Six people were detained for petty hooliganism in Tbilisi on Tuesday, during a rally outside the office of the National Movement.

The rally was organized by the youth movement Free Generation, which demands to convict former officials and ‘restore justice.’

Third Georgian fighter dies in the war in Ukraine

TBILISI, DFWatch–A third Georgian has died in the war in Ukraine. Tamaz Sukhiashvili, 36, was killed in the battle for Donetsk Airport near the village of Pisky on January 17, fighting alongside Kiev’s forces.

Three more Georgians were slightly wounded in the same battle.
