Seaside nightclub demolished in Batumi

(Interpressnews.)

TBILISI, February 11 – Authorities in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi are dismantling an unauthorized structure on the city’s popular seaside boulevard, officials said on Wednesday.

According to the government of the Adjara Autonomous Republic, demolition is underway on a nightclub located along the Old Boulevard waterfront. The venue, known as Soho, had reached the end of its lease agreement, and officials said the decision to remove it was made on that basis.

The work is being carried out with the involvement of Batumi Boulevard’s mobile units and under the supervision of the Batumi Municipal Inspection Service.

Officials said that once the demolition is complete, construction debris will be removed and the area will be cleaned and restored. They added that the goal is to improve the appearance of the seaside zone and create a more attractive and comfortable environment for visitors.

Batumi Boulevard is one of the city’s main tourist attractions, stretching along the Black Sea coast. Local authorities have previously announced plans to identify and respond to unauthorized or visually disruptive structures as part of an urban development plan.
