One dead after knife fight north of Tbilisi

TBILISI, April 27 – One man was killed and three others were injured after an argument between four people turned into a knife fight in Dusheti, a town north of Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, police said.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs said the incident happened late at night on Saturday, in Dusheti municipality.

According to the ministry, all four people involved received wounds from a bladed weapon. One of them, a 47-year-old man, died at the scene from his injuries.

The three other people involved in the confrontation were taken to a clinic for medical treatment.

Police said they arrested 35-year-old has previously been convicted. He was given medical treatment and detained on a charge of intentional murder, which carries a possible prison sentence of up to 15 years.
