TBILISI, September 20 – Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze will address the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday, during a visit that will also include meetings with foreign leaders and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The Georgian government announced Sunday that Kobakhidze would take part in the General Debate at the UN General Assembly’s 81st session. He has traveled to New York with a delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and government administration chief Levan Zhorzholiani.
The prime minister is also scheduled to attend a summit on multilateral partnerships and a high-level panel discussion on peace organized by Finland.
Botchorishvili told journalists Sunday that the UN gathering would give Georgia a chance to present its key messages on the international stage and hold bilateral talks with representatives of other countries and international organizations.
The government said Kobakhidze’s schedule also included bilateral meetings with leaders of several countries.
