TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia is seeking closer relations with China. After a recent visit by a Chinese delegation to Georgia, a  parliamentary delegation with government members plan to visit China in about a week.

Head of the delegation is Davit Saganelidze, MP from the ruling Georgian Dream coalition. The visit starts on May 19 and lasts until May 27.

From May 21-25, the delegation will participate in the 19th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China and the Silk Road International Exposition.

Members of the Georgian delegation will have a speech at the forum. Representatives of Georgia’s National Investment Agency is participating in a discussion dedicated to Silk Road – Economic Zone.

May 26, the Georgian embassy in Beijing is organizing a reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia.

Last week, a Chinese delegation gifted Georgia 245 units of tractors and other machinery, while parties signed an economic agreement a few days before.
