TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in the first eight months of 2014 was 12 percent more than in the same period last year.
Preliminary data from Georgia’s National Statistics Department, GeoStat, published on Tuesday show that the total amount of foreign trade turnover was USD 7,411 million in January- August.
Out of this, export was USD 1,914 million; 9 percent more than last year. The import was USD 5,497; 13 percent more than last year.
The negative trade balance in the first eight months of 2014 was USD 3,584, which is 48 percent of the total foreign trade turnover.
