TBILISI, DFWatch – Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili met his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev March 6 during a two-day visit to the country.

A press release from the Azerbaijani president’s administration says that the two expressed satisfaction with how successfully the relations between the two countries are developing in various spheres.

The presidents discussed bilateral, regional and international issues.

After Saakashvili and Aliyev had met, a larger meeting was held between officials of Azerbaijan and Georgia. After the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum about cooperation in the spheres of sport and statistics.
