Tbilisi, DFWatch – Police arrested an 18-year-old man, who allegedly stabbed two men, one minor, on possibly homophobic grounds.

One of the victims, who recognized the attacker and identified him at the police, wrote on his Facebook page that he didn’t agree with the legal qualification of the case, as the investigation was launched for deliberate premeditated assault resulting in a lighter health injury — the 118th article of the Criminal Code of Georgia. He claims that it was a hate crime.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) informed on Monday evening that policemen arrested the man, who on 21 May stabbed with a knife two men aged 16 and 24 in Tbilisi. One of them was injured in his arm and the second in his thigh. The attacker fled the scene, while the two were taken to the hospital.

The detainee pleaded guilty,the MIA states.
