The Road Department says the restrictions will be in force until August 30. The decision was made on recommendation from Georgia’s Environment Ministry and National Environment Agency.
The restrictions are the following: from August 18 to August 30 on the 134km-135km section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road, traffic will be allowed to move only without stopping, while traffic is completely restricted from 00:00 to 05:30. Light vehicles are prohibited from driving there from 20:30 to 05:30.
Under especially difficult conditions, traffic will be restricted for everyone from 20:30 to 05:30.
Traffic will be controlled by the police. On other sections of the road, traffic is unrestricted.
