TBILISI, DFWatch–Three Polish tourists have been airlifted by helicopter from Mount Tetnuldi near the Russian border, after being trapped by heavy snowfall at 4,200 meter’s height.

News of the rescue operation appeared on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Monday evening, accompanied by photos and a video clip.

The statement said the Emergency Service was notified Monday morning that the tourists were in trouble. They were unable to go down because the weather deteriorated.

The three were brought down by a border police helicopter.
