TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia has its third European judo champion, after Avtandil Chrikishvili won gold medal in men’s 81 kg on Friday.

Chrikishvili defeated Tomislav Marijanovic of Croatia in the final to win gold in the 2013 European Championship in Budapest. Before, he competed against Bottieau Joachim from Belgium, Mrvaljevic Srdjan from Montenegro, Luz Carlos from Portugal and Ladogin Georgi from Estonia.

Another Georgian, Nugzar Tatalashvili, won a silver medal in his final fight, when he was defeated by Draksic Rok of Slovenia in men’s 73 kg category.

Zebeda Rekhviashvili won bronze medal in men’s 73 kg, after he defeated Van Tichelt Dirk from Belgium on Friday.

Thursday, two athletes from Georgia won gold medal in men’s 66 kg and 60 kg categories.

Currently, Georgia is on top of the country list with three gold, one bronze and one silver medal, followed by France and Russia.
