TBILISI, DFWatch–The second round of Georgia’s local election will be held on next Saturday, July 12, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC).

CEC made its decision after a session which ended late Thursday night. The first round of the local election was held on June 15.

Votes were revoked at 14 precincts in several regions, which required a repeat election these places on June 29.

In the capital, the candidate for the government coalition received 46.09 percent of the votes, while the National Movement candidate received 27.97 percent of votes. This means the two candidates, Davit Narmania and Nikanor Melia, respectively, will compete in the second round in Tbilisi.

Georgian Dream received 50.82 percent of votes in the country as a whole, UNM 22.42 percent, Nino Burjanadze United Opposition 10.22 percent, Alliance of Patriots of Georgia 4.72 percent, Labor Party 3.45 percent.
