Sanitation worker killed by reversing truck

TBILISI, August 26 – A sanitation worker was killed Wednesday after being struck by a municipal cleaning vehicle in western Georgia.

The accident happened in the village Bugnari, in Kobuleti municipality. Local residents told Interpressnews that the young man was an employee of the municipal sanitation service and was hit by one of the service’s vehicles while it was reversing.

The man died as a result of his injuries. No further information about his identity or the circumstances immediately preceding the accident was provided in the report.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation for violations of traffic rules following the incident.
