TBILISI, DFWatch–President Mikheil Saakashvili Wednesday continued his tour of the US and held meetings with Secretary of State John Kerry and Vice President Joe Biden.

“We applaud the democratic transition that has been taking place in Georgia,” Kerry said in connection with the meeting, which was held at the State Department.

The main topic of discussion was the deepening of relations between Georgia and the US. The two also discussed current events in Georgia, and agreed that the US’ engagement is very important to maintain democratic institutions and reforms here.

During the visit, the president also participated in the Sedona Forum, a conference organized by his old friend, Senator John McCain. There, met with Vice President Joe Biden, who was one of the participants at the forum.
