TBILISI, DFWatch – The pressure group Georgian Young Lawyer’s Association says supporters of the opposition Georgian Dream coalition are regularly subject to pressure in the eastern Kakheti region of Georgia.
Spokesperson for GYLA’s Kakheti office told Interpressnews that a teacher, an ambulance driver and another public employee in the town of Gurjaani were fired for being supporters of Georgian Dream.
GYLA expresses concern over what is happening and asks the authorities to take action to prevent political persecution.
Georgia is holding elections for parliament in October.
