TBILISI, DFWatch–Large quantities of undeclared gold has been seized by Georgian customs at the Sarpi border crossing with Turkey.

The gold jewelry which had a total weight of 466.05 grams was found in the belongings of a Georgian citizen who was coming across the border from the Turkish side, according to the Ministry of Finance’s investigative service, reported by Interpressnews.

The total value of the goods is USD 15,300. The case file was sent to the Finance Ministry’s investigative service to consider how to respond.
