Kvaratskhelia crowned Georgia’s footballer of the year

TBILISI, December 27 – Georgia’s football federation has named Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the country’s best footballer of 2025, capping a high profile awards ceremony in the capital.

The honors were announced at the GFF Awards 2025, held at the Paragraph Hotel in Tbilisi and organized by the Georgian Football Federation. The annual event recognizes standout performances across men’s, women’s and youth football, as well as futsal and refereeing.

Kvaratskhelia was voted best male footballer of the year. The award for best female footballer went to Teona Bakradze, while Giorgi Gvatadze was named the top futsal player of 2025. Rising talent Giorgi Kvernadze received the best young player award, and Goga Kikacheishvili was recognized as referee of the year.

Special attention was given to youth development. Medals named after Georgian football legend Alexander Chivadze were presented to top under 17 and under 19 players.

In the under 17 category, bronze went to Saba Avdoevi of Iberia Tbilisi, silver to Luka Sharikadze of Dinamo Tbilisi, and gold to Andria Bartishvili of Kolkheti Poti. Among under 19 players, bronze was awarded to Aleksandre Amisulashvili of Iberia Tbilisi, silver to Giorgi Gvasalia of Dinamo Tbilisi, and gold to Saba Kharebashvili, also of Dinamo Tbilisi.
