Jet ski rider detained for endangering swimmers

TBILISI, August 5 – Georgian police have detained a man accused of endangering swimmers with a jet ski at a beach in Ureki, on the Black Sea coast.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said the incident came to its attention after video footage spread on social media showing a person riding a jet ski close to people in the sea.

Officers from the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police responded to the incident and asked the rider to present identification.

According to the ministry, he refused to comply with the officers’ lawful request and verbally insulted them.
