Tbilisi, DFWatch – Georgia exported 45 percent more bottles (0.75 L) of wine in the first four months of 2016, compared to the same period last year. Increase in revenues in the same period is 15 percent.
According to the National Wine Agency, Georgia exported 11,581,031 bottles of wine to 30 countries around the world, worth USD 26.9 million (15 percent more than the same period last year).
The top destination countries in January-April were Russia – 5,925,933 bottles, Ukraine – 1,488,737 bottles, Kazakhstan – 1,281.100 bottles, China – 779,425bottles and Poland – 682,522 bottles.
The agency informed that wine export increased by 85 percent to Russia, 70 percent to Ukraine, 58 percent to China and 31 percent to Poland.
