TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Maia Panjikidze on Tuesday met with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to discuss bilateral relations and further cooperation.
During her visit to Azerbaijan, Panjikidze also met with the prime minister and deputy speaker of parliament.
“A number of economic programs connect us, and the implementation of those programs is really important for Georgia, as well as Azerbaijan,” she said after meeting with the president.
The foreign minister participated in the International Conference on Strengthening Cooperation in Preventing Terrorism.
During the rest of the day she plans to hold a meeting with her Azerbaijanian colleague and later hold a press conference for the media.
