
TBILISI, May 13 – Georgia’s foreign trade turnover reached USD 8.13 billion in the first four months of 2026, up 1.7% from the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office.
The figure covers trade in goods from January through April and does not include undeclared trade.
Exports showed the strongest movement. Georgia exported goods worth USD 2.44 billion in the first four months of the year, a 21.1% increase compared with the same period of 2025.
The country imported goods worth USD 5.69 billion, down 4.9% year on year. The result was a negative trade balance of USD 3.25 billion for January-April 2026. The trade deficit accounted for 40.0% of total foreign trade turnover.
