TBILISI, September 20 – Georgia’s emergency hotline, 112, returned to normal service on Sunday afternoon after a technical problem disrupted incoming calls earlier in the day.
The Public Safety Management Center announced at 9:17 a.m. that calls to the emergency number were being delayed because of a technical fault. It published eight alternative phone numbers for people who needed urgent assistance but could not get through to 112.
The center said its technical team was working to fix the problem and apologized for the disruption.
In an update published at 2:52 p.m., the center announced that the fault had been resolved and emergency calls were coming through without difficulty. It again apologized for the inconvenience.
