TBILISI, DWWatch–Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said this in a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, which gathered traditionalist and right-wing leaders across the world.

In his speech, Kobakhidze delivered a fervent defense of national sovereignty and traditional values, emphasizing Georgia’s commitment to its Christian heritage and national identity.

“We are proud of our Christianity and do everything to protect it.”

The PM criticized what he called “liberal fascism”, and foreign interference, asserting that Georgia would not compromise its dignity or sovereignty in pursuit of European integration.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán lauded Kobakhidze as a “hero of Georgia” and a “successful leader,” praising his resistance to liberal movements and refusal to bow to Brussels.

A video message was played during the conference, in which U.S. President Donald Trump said he supported the participating nations in their defense of traditional values and national interests.

Georgia’s PM also touched upon the conflict in Ukraine, pointing to ‘pressure’ on Georgia amid efforts to maintain peace and stability, hinting at earlier statements about Western countries trying to bring Georgia into the war effort. He warned of the rise of “liberal fascism” globally, describing it as an aggressive and intolerant ideology funded by foreign interests.

Reaffirming Georgia’s commitment to European integration, Kobakhidze stressed that this path must not come at the expense of the nation’s sovereignty and values.
