TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia has declared readiness in helping to extinguish a forest fire in the vicinity of a Russian military facility in South Ossetia, Novosti-Gruziya reported.
Fire started on the night of 6 April in the forest close to the villages of Tsinagari and Ghduleti in Akhalgori (Leningor in Ossetian) district, which is under de facto control of South Ossetian authorities.
‘We haven’t received any requests for assistance, yet we’re ready to help to extinguish the fire’, head of the press service of the Gori district administration, Natia Mdinaridze.
No confirmation of the information about the fire was to be found in South Ossetian or Russian media outlets.
