TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s estimated real GDP growth rate was 8.4 percent in December 2013, compared to the same month in 2012, according to preliminary data published by the National Statistics Department, GeoStat.

TBILISI, DFWatch–The Georgian lari continues to fall in value and hit 1.7817 against the US dollar on January 23.
The fall started in early November and continued gradually from a level of around 1.67 lari against the dollar the month before.

The estimate was published in the Bank’s Global Economic Prospects 2014, which reads that the prognosis for economic growth in Georgia in 2014 is 6.3.

The list was published Tuesday by the Heritage Foundation and shows Georgia in 22nd place with 72.6 points.
