TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia’s Defense Minister Irakli Alasania said on Wednesday that in the past, there have been exceeded expectations about Germany’s support for Georgia’s aspirations to become a NATO member.
He said this as he opened a forum to discuss strategic cooperation between his country and Germany.
The goal of the forum, which is being held for the second time and will end today, is to form a partly formal platform for discussion among state and non-state actors and foster dialogue about foreign and security issues.
“We should study from our past experience. Today there is a new chance that Germany will be a patron of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic ambitions,” Alasania said.
