TBILISI, DFWatch–69 prisoners were released from jail on Saturday, following a decision by local prison boards and the Prison Ministry’s pardon commission.
Altogether, the bodies have reviewed the cases of about 770 prisoners in three days, according to the Prison Ministry.
Among those released are seven women. There are no minors.
From October 2012 until today, 2,888 prisoners have been released by the decisions of local boards and the ministry’s commission. 325 of them have been women and 46 have been minors.
In addition, the president pardoned 95 prisoners for the Easter holiday by issuing a decree which has been sent to the prison ministry for enforcement.
