
TBILISI, March 24 – A 30-year-old woman has died in eastern Georgia after what local reports described as suspected poisoning from a preserved food product, while her husband and child were also hospitalized, Interpressnews reported on Tuesday.
The case was reported from Gurjaani municipality, in Georgia’s wine-growing Kakheti region. According to Interpressnews, the woman is believed to have died after consuming a preserved product. The same report said her husband and child also suffered intoxication and were taken to a clinic for treatment.
Residents of the village of Kardenakhi told the news agency that the family had eaten homemade preserved eggplant before they began feeling unwell. After that, emergency medical services were called to the house. Doctors were unable to save the woman.
