Russian bases in Abkhazia have mushroomed since 2008 war

2,000 Russian troops conducting military drills in Georgian breakaway regions

TBILISI, DFWatch–The Russian soldiers are participating in military exercises in both Georgian breakaway territories, South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

Troops from all of Russia’s four military districts are taking part in the drills.
