TBILISI, DFWatch–The National Food Agency in Georgia on Thursday seized 200kg of suspicious meat at the Dezertirebi market in Tbilisi.
According to the short statement, Beka 2015 Ltd had prepared for selling the meat, however some of it didn’t have a seal of approval.
The seal is attached in order to confirm that a veterinary inspection has been conducted before and after the animal was slaughtered.
The company was not able to present documents that such an inspection had been carried out, and it was therefore fined 1,000 laris (USD 445).
The meat will be destroyed in accordance with law.
