TBILISI, DFWatch–Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, will visit Georgia July 11-12.

Davit Jalaghania, Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister, said at a briefing Monday that the visit is planned to be held in Batumi, a city on the Black Sea.

During the visit, Füle will be meeting with government officials and participate in the 10th international conference for EU’s Eastern European neighborhood policy. The conference is called “Georgia’s European Way: EU’s Eastern European Partners – Towards the Vilnius Summit”, referring to the Eastern Partnership summit in the Lithuanian capital in November.

Representatives from the neighborhood policy will be present at the Batumi conference to talk about the preparations for the Vilnius summit and the progress achieved in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

July 11 Maia Panjikidze, Foreign Affairs Minister, will hold meetings with Estonian colleague Urmas Paet, Bulgarian colleague Kristian Vigenin and Slovakian colleague Miroslav Lajčák.
