TBILISI, DFWatch–A car accident claimed the lives of one man and two children in the mountainous Adjara region in the southwestern part of Georgia on Tuesday.

A pickup truck was driving along a mountain road in Keda as it veered off the road and plunged down.

The man of about 50 years of age who was driving the car was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later died. Two children aged 10 and 12 died instantaneously. One of them was the child of the driver.

The three were coming back to Batumi after having visited the resort Beshumi.

An investigation has been launched pursuant to article 276 of the Criminal Code about violation of traffic rules causing the death of two or more people.
