TBILISI, DFWatch – Georgia and Turkey have still not reached agreement over the exact text of a treaty about protection of historic sites.

Deputy foreign minister Nino Kalandadze said Monday that additional sites may be included as the talks progress.

The treaty concerns restoration of sites inside the neighboring country.

So far, the deal aims to accommodate restoration of Oshki and Ishkhani churches in Turkey, as well as construct a mosque in Batumi and restore the Ahmed complex in Akhaltsikhe, Georgia.

The construction of Azizi Mosque in Batumi is controversial and people have marched in protest against it.
