TBILISI, DFWatch–A missing hyena was found dead on Wednesday during clean-up work inside the partially destroyed Tbilisi Zoo.

The hyena was found by employees of Tbilservice Group, close to the cages of tigers and lions near the administration building.

A tiger is still missing after the devastating flood of June 13-14. A number of flooded cages that are filled with mud and dirt are still expect to be cleaned, and the body of the tiger might be found there. But representatives of the zoo cannot guarantee that the tiger is dead, as it might have escaped the zoo during the flooding, like some other animals did.

A white tiger, which also escaped the zoo, attacked and killed a man last week, and was put down.

Almost half of the zoo animals living in Tbilisi Zoo have either died in the flood or been killed by authorities.
