
TBILISI, April 30 – A man under the age of 50 was found dead in a river in western Georgia on Wednesday, according to Interpressnews.
The body was discovered in the Tsivi River in Chaladidi, a village in Khobi municipality.
A local resident told Interpressnews that the man was an internally displaced person from Abkhazia. According to locals, neighbors and relatives had been looking for him for two days before the body was found.
An ambulance crew and police were mobilized at the scene.
The body has been transferred for forensic examination.
Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs told Interpressnews that an investigation has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code, which refers to incitement to suicide.
