TBILISI, DFWatch–Bidzina Ivanishvili was Saturday elected honorable chairman of the Georgian Dream Democratic Georgia Party.

The Prime Minister’s Party on Saturday held a large congress at Tbilisi Concert Hall to elect a political council and a party chairman.

21 members were elected for the political council. Among them are members of parliament Eliso Chapidze, Eka Beselia, Ivane Kighuradze, Irakli Sesiashvili, and Zakaria Kutsnashvili, as well as Energy Minister Kakhi Kaladze, Minister of Economy Nodar Khaduri and others.

The party members unanimously elected Bidzina Ivanishivli as a chairman.

“Starting to turn Georgian Dream into reality is related to one person,” Manana Kobakhidze said.

“Chairman of the government, Bidzina Ivanishvili.”

After being selected as party leader, the prime minister gave a speech about the current situation in the country.
