TBILISI, DFWatch – Interactive maps of past election results and voter lists are now available online.

The interactive maps are offered by a recently established web portal which aims to collect information about alleged violations and incident throughout the election period.

electionportal.ge is a joint project by International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED), Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) and Transparency International – Georgia (TI-Georgia). The portal is administered by ISFED.

The website has been updated recently and some new functions have been added. The website shows the results of each election conducted in Georgia since 2008 by a variety of indicators such as turnout, overall results, individual party results and more.

The website presents the data through maps which enable analysis by geographical area, such as regions, districts and precincts.

The most recent voters list also is available on the website now.

“This site should be interesting to all types of people who are interested in politics. It will help political parties target campaign activities by identifying areas of potential support based on the previous election results. The site is also useful for researchers looking to understand electoral patterns. There is something here for everyone,” Luis Navarro, NDI/Georgia Country Director commented at the press conference.

Eka Gigauri, head of TI Georgia, said the new functions will help political parties analyze their earlier campaigns, and see where they had support, and use the data to plan their.

Tamar Chugoshvili, head of GYLA, added that the website will update information about the election process and it will operatively show which candidate is leading in which region.
