TBILISI, DFWatch – The Republicans, Free Democrats and businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili’s team will be cooperating with eachother, but they have not yet decided to set up a formal coalition or alliance.

Davit Berdzenishvili, one of the Republicans leaders, announced this statement today after a meeting with Ivanishvili.

The meeting was held at the businessman’s residence on his own initiative. It lasted for one hour and was attended by all Republicans and Free Democrats representatives.

According to David Berdzenishvili, they have created a new political unity which will be an “alternative political center to the government.”

“Its final form and the identities of its members will be clear in the near future. It cannot yet be an electoral bloc due to the simple reason that the elections are not yet scheduled. Now it is a process of forming one united political machine,” David Berdzenishvili remarked.

Viktor Dolidze, representative of the Free Democrats, explained that it was decided to create eleven working groups which will thematically work on security, economy, agriculture, health and social issues.
