TBILISI, DFWatch – Georgia is attractive in regards to ease of doing business and freedom of the economy, says Martin Wansleben, head of the German Chamber of Commerce. He hopes that this will contribute to an influx of German investments to Georgia.

Wansleben said this at a meeting with Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure.

According to the information released by the Ministry, the goal of the meeting was to deepen business relations between Germany and Georgia, and to introduce the business environment in Georgia’s regions to potential investors.

The Minister informed his German guests about already completed and planned large infrastructure projects in the regions. The guests then explained what German companies are interested in and how to attract investments from them.

Ramaz Nikolaishvili also met with the president of the construction company Shtrabag, which is one of the largest German-Austrian construction companies.

The company implements projects in about 60 countries in the world in many sectors. The company constructs roads, bridges, railway infrastructure, airports and other large scale installations.

According to the ministry, Shtrabag has signaled interest in participating in several of its tenders.
