TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili says no government has ever been forgiven for using weapons against its own people.
Margvelashvili said he was shocked by seeing footage from Thursday’s events in Ukraine.
“Events are developing in a tragic way in Ukraine, and we are completely shocked by what we have seen,” he said.
He continued saying that if Viktor Yanukovich has political will instead of violent steps, there is a chance that the bloodshed will stop and there will be renewed dialogue in Ukraine. Armed confrontation can be transformed into a political process.
“I express hope that the top leader of Ukraine will take political steps and follow calls from world leaders in order to avoid a very difficult and painful confrontation in the country,” he added.
