Georgia pardons eight female prisoners to mark Mother's Day

TBILISI, DFWatch–The Georgian president pardoned eight women on Monday in connection with Mother’s Day, which in Georgia is marked on March 3.

Zviad Koridze, head of the president’s pardon commission, said at a press conference on Monday that four among the eight will be released. The rest of the prisoners had their sentence reduced to half.

The women’s prison is located in Rustavi, a town about 20km south of the capital.
