TBILISI, DFWatch–Georgia won the 2013 European Judo Championships for men with three gold, three silver and one bronze medal, followed by Russia with one gold, one silver and one bronze and France with one gold and six bronze.

The Georgian team won a gold medal in a match against the Russian team with a score of 4:1. Earlier, the Georgians beat the Hungarians and Netherlands.

Georgia’s three gold medals were won by Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Olympic Champion in men’s 66 kg, Avtandil Tchrikishvili, men’s 81 kg and Amiran Papuinashivli, men’s 73 kg.

Nugzar Tatalashvili, men’s 73 kg, Adam Okruashvili, men’s 100 kg and Varlam Liparteliani, men’s 90 kg won silver, while Zebeda Rekhviashivli won a bronze medal in men’s 73 kg category.
