TBILISI, DFWatch–A group of Polish climbers are requesting help after four of them got stuck in the Caucasus mountains.

One of the trapped climbers fell after a rope broke. He did not break any bones, but is having problems moving.

Giorgi Dzagnide, head of the Interior Ministry’s emergency department, says the Polish climbers have asked for help getting down. They are on Shkhara, the highest top in Georgia and third highest in the Caucasian mountains, located in the Svaneti region.

“Rescue workers in Mestia is ready to help and is at the foot of the mountain footer, but due to bad weather they cannot help before the weather gets better,” he told journalists.

Mountains are one of the major attractions for tourists in Georgia. In January, three Russian climbers were killed in an avalanche in the Kazbegian Mountains.
