TBILISI, DFWatch–A group of foreign experts is to monitor ongoing high profile criminal cases in Georgia.

Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, who took the initiative, told journalists that President Mikheil Saakashvili has agreed to establishing the group.

Another group, also comprised of foreign experts, will monitor the ongoing work to change the constitution and other democratic processes. The new government has prepared a package of constitutional amendments about the powers of the president and the location of parliament. The constitutional amendments are the subject of a dispute between the former government and the ruling coalition.

The prime minister says this new idea will contribute to correct development of political processes and also be a good opportunity to give objective information to the EU and the United States.

«In addition, their conclusions will be very interesting for us, politicians – government and opposition,» Ivanishvili said.
